Constant inspection of the kiwi trees

The possible appearance of Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae has alerted the experts, urging them to suggest constant inspections in order to detect its symptoms in time. Specifically, the experts advise the producers to apply strict hygiene habits to areas, tools and machinery used for cultivation –disinfection before and right after the use. The same instructions apply to the staff, while the experts note that it is extremely important to use certified multiplying material.

The symptoms

Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae takes the form of corner-stains and tabefaction of the leaves, while sometimes it causes a brown-red colour alteration on the stem or the branches.
